Obituary: Keith Deaver, 83, of Hannibal
Apr 12, 2018Keith Deaver, 83, of Hannibal, formerly of Paris, passed away on Monday evening, March 12, 2018 at Beth Haven Nursing Home.He was born on Oct. 16, 1934 in Monroe County, the son of Noland (Mike) and Lillian Borden Deaver. Keith married Linda Snyder Barr on Jan. 29, 1983 in New London, and she survives at home. Other survivors include three children — Jill (Dane) Kendrick, Chris (Tammy) Deaver, Jeff (Becky) Barr; nine grandchildren — Mandy (Sam) Bish, Annie (Chad) Wallace, Kacy (Ben) Bell, Jared (Ashley) Kendrick, Chad (Jenny) Deaver, Sam (Ashley) Kendrick, Sara (Andrew) Kautsch, Gretchen (Tyler) Reibsamen and Marsha (Logan) VanArkel; 14 great-grandchildren — Mason, Colton, Emma, Clara, Laina, Chase, Khloe, Landon, Lilly, Colbe, Makennah, Maleah, Ofelia and Silas; four siblings — Kelly (Connie) Deaver, Ruthanne (Alan) Hause, Richard (Gloria) Deaver and Randy (Margaret) Deaver; and one cousin, Lois Ann Deaver.At 50 years, Keith was the longest MoDOT working employee. He began as a rodman, advanced to District Liaison Engineer and then the Resident Engineer in District 3. He served on the Highway Credit Union board for many years. Keith belonged to the United Methodist Church of Paris, and was a past member of the Paris R-II School Board and the Paris Jaycees. He was a charter member of the Paris Lions Club and currently belongs to the Hannibal Lions Club. He also served as board member and president of the Ralls County Water District.Always voting a straight ticket, Keith was a lifelong dedicated Democrat. He also thoroughly enjoyed watching and listening to the St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou Tigers and playing games of chance.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at the United Methodist Church of Paris, with Reverend Jeff Voepel and Reverend Lynn Donnelly officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Agnew Funeral Home. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery.
